Ed Killeen

MDiv, MA, LPC

Ed is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Missouri, working with couples, men, women, families, and teens as one with advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). His counseling experience includes issues related to couples (including pre-marital), anger, sexual addictions (including pornography) attachment disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, bi-polar disorder, and ministry issues. His approach to counseling theory flows from the confluence of evidence-based clinical theories and with Biblical wisdom. Licensed as a Presbyterian minister, Ed has over fifteen years experience in church ministry, much of which involved counseling. His clinical training included supervision under the Boston Christian Counseling Center and Crossroads Counseling in St. Louis. He completed his MA in Counseling and Masters of Divinity at Covenant Theological Seminary in 2000. He also holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa and a BFA in Painting from the University of Kansas. Ed and Margaret have been married since 1993 and have three adult children.


Margaret Killeen

MA, LPC

Margaret Killeen is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with individuals, couples and families. She is interested in helping her clients to form meaningful relationships and for couples to build deep and lasting marriages. She counts it a privilege to enter into difficult conversations and collaborate with clients. She enjoys partnering with single parents and families on parenting issues, particularly the effects of divorce, anxiety and ADHD in children and adolescents. Having grown up overseas, she has a particular interest in working with those from other cultures, particularly interracial and intercultural marriages and third culture issues.

She specializes in the practice of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), having received advanced training through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).

Margaret received her education from Vanderbilt University, the University of Kansas and Covenant Theological Seminary. In this combination of training, she recognizes that we are whole people; body, mind and spirit and welcomes the integration of faith and spiritual practice. She is a frequent guest lecturer on topics of parenting, anxiety and relationships.

Margaret also collaborates with her husband Ed in marriage co-counseling and speaking engagements, upon request. They have been married for 28 years and have three young adult children together.


Jamie McCall

MA, LPC

Jamie is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received his Masters in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary. He has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). Before pursuing a counseling career, Jamie worked as a plumber, but decided he preferred working with people.  He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Family Studies in addition to three years experience working with children in school care settings. His counseling experience includes working with children, adolescents, couples, and individuals dealing with grief, shame, anger, depression, emotional vocabulary development, and relational conflict. His interests include working with children and adolescents, and couples facing struggles or simply desiring to grow closer. He has a heart for helping others to understand how much God cares for them and what He has done for them, and is passionate about working with people of all beliefs.

 

Jennifer Wainscott

MA, LPC

Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with individuals, couples, and families. She has a deep appreciation for the human heart and enjoys helping others navigate the complexities of life. While Jennifer regularly works with teens, adults, and couples with a variety of issues and backgrounds, she has received advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). Her counseling experience includes relationship and/or marital conflict, family-of-origin issues, ADHD and its related concerns, spirituality, issues of identity, abuse and trauma. Her goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore new paths in life, learn more about themselves and their relationships, and experience new ways of flourishing.



Lauren Kofron

MA, PLPC

Lauren Kofron is a Masters of Counseling graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary and a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor. She believes everyone has a unique story and desires to provide support as her clients navigate the tender territory of pain, hope, and healing. Lauren welcomes the opportunity to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.  She has received advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals, couples, and families (EFT) through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). Her counseling experience includes relationship and/or marital conflict, family-of-origin issues, grief & loss, depression, and anxiety.  Her goal is to foster safety, trust, and self-compassion as her clients explore change, healing, and wholeness.  Lauren has been married for 17 adventurous years and together with her husband they are raising three spirited young teens. In her personal time, she enjoys gardening and cultivating her first cut flower garden.

Allie Brookens

Allie Brookens is a Masters of Counseling graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary. Allie believes that life can be unbelievably joyful, unspeakably painful, and everything in between. She feels honored to sit down with those who want to share their unique stories so that they do not need to walk alone. Her areas of interest include identity formation, loneliness, anxiety, depression, spirituality and relational struggles. Allie is currently accepting new clients and welcoming teens through young adults. Though new to St. Louis, Allie enjoys all the area offers including great coffee and cultural experiences. If the city feels a little too noisy, she heads out to nature for a hike or the latest great novel.

Justin Dodd

MA, PLPC

Justin Dodd is a Counselor in Training seeking his licensure as a professional counselor (LPC) in Missouri. He is honored to enter into the sometimes heavy moments of counseling work. From both his professional experience and graduate training, Justin is keenly interested in helping and learning from clients in how to address their personal and professional anxiety, even as it may relate to past trauma. He hopes to sit with clients in a posture of gentleness and thoughtful consideration. He believes counseling is a process of discovering together present needs and how to pursue these needs well. He works to help couples, teens, and individual adults discover and develop their decision-making power, even when they feel distressed. Along with his counseling work, Justin serves in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Washington University assisting a variety of psychology courses. He delights in staying current on counseling research to better serve his clients. In his free time, Justin enjoys cooking with cast-iron skillets, riding his classic motorcycle, and cheering for the Cardinals.


Shelly Simpson

Counseling Intern

Shelly Simpson is a practicum student at Covenant Theological Seminary. She is originally from Colombia, South America where she obtained a B.S. in Psychology and her Colombian counseling license. In Colombia, Shelly worked supporting children diagnosed with cancer and their parents. She also worked with children who faced learning challenges. Since she moved to the U.S. she has held different roles in which she has worked directly with children and parents in a variety of educational settings. Shelly and her husband have been married since 2008 and have two wonderful children who keep them busy and engaged.  Life circumstances can be challenging, but it is Shelly’s hope to create a safe space in which her clients can work towards their therapeutic goals and flourish in the different areas of their lives. Shelly is currently accepting new clients and welcoming individuals and couples at a reduced rate. 

Shelly Simpson es una estudiante en prácticas de Covenant Theological Seminary.  Ella es originaria de Colombia, Sudamérica donde obtuvo su título en Psicología y su licencia de consejería de dicho país. En Colombia, Shelly trabajó apoyando a niños diagnosticados con cáncer y a sus padres. También trabajó con niños que enfrentaban dificultades de aprendizaje. Desde que se mudó a los EE. UU., ha desempeñado diferentes roles en los que ha trabajado directamente con niños y padres en una variedad de entornos educativos. Shelly y su esposo están casados ​​desde 2008 y tienen dos hijas maravillosas que los mantienen ocupados e involucrados en sus vidas. Las circunstancias de la vida pueden convertirse en un reto, pero Shelly espera crear un espacio seguro en el que sus clientes puedan trabajar para alcanzar sus objetivos terapéuticos y florecer en las diferentes áreas de sus vidas. Lance LeBlanc

Counseling Intern

Lance LeBlanc is a practicum student at Covenant Theological Seminary completing his Masters in Counseling. He finds people’s stories to be endlessly and beautifully complex, and feels privileged to have the opportunity to sit with others and bear witness to these stories. He believes that while life can be radiant, it can also leave us broken and simply striving to survive.  It is an honor and deep desire of Lance's to come alongside and support those who are hurting. He hopes to help couples, individual adults, and teens who are navigating difficulties connecting with others and themselves, shame, overwhelming identity/life transitions, family of origin wounds, depression and anxiety. In all of this, he holds a deep conviction of each person’s capacity for flourishing. Lance married his best friend 6 years ago, and together they love and raise their three children. In his free time, Lance loves cooking, cycling, and playing pickle-ball. Lance is currently accepting new clients and welcoming individuals and couples at a reduced rate.
